Austin Public Schools ‘Lunch Tray Project’ returns as federally funded benefits set to expire | News

AUSTIN, Minn. – A federally funded method that permits all general public university learners to receive free meals all through the COVID-19 pandemic  is set to expire this summertime. 

Austin Community Schools has a software to help with that. 

The Lunch Tray Task started in 2018, and was place on pause throughout the nationwide free of charge food application. In September, when learners return they will have to pay back for their lunches. 

By means of the Lunch Tray Project, the district asks for donations from the  group to aid lower profits people fork out for lunches. 

Mary Weikum, Meals and Nutrition Companies Director for Austin Community Educational facilities points out, “The group we’re aiming to help are families that probably hardly qualify for any benefits. So we experience this is just a way to reduce some of the pressure for youngsters and households in that predicament.”
