DES MOINES, Iowa — Kostiantyn “Koast” Tsymbal is a long way from house, but the Ukrainian trade pupil is settling into Iowa by connecting with Des Moines’ homeless populace through Joppa.

The teen arrived in Johnston last summer and only supposed to remain in Iowa for one particular school calendar year. Due to the war amongst Ukraine and Russia, he’s unable to go house. Tsymbal will end his schooling though in Iowa.

While Tsymbal hopes for his country’s survival, he now listens to stories of Iowans surviving on the road.
That integrated a guy named David, who lives in a homeless camp around downtown Des Moines.
“There’s matters I’ve been via I would not want on my worst enemy, and shedding my spouse and son is just one of them,” David said. “You’re constantly going to have some homeless persons. Individuals need to have to learn to possibly acknowledge it or give sites for us to go.”
Tsymbal said he’s likely to proceed his company with Joppa until he returns to Ukraine.
