Uvalde Shooting: Robb Elementary School Principal Mandy Gutierrez under fire, placed on administrative leave

UVALDE, Texas — The principal of Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas is under fire.

Mandy Gutierrez was positioned on administrative leave earlier this week.

Talking to CNN, she responded to a Texas Residence Committee investigation that accuses her faculty of acquiring a “society of non-compliance” with trying to keep doors locked at all instances.

According to Gutierrez, a custodian checks all classroom locks every night time.

She also claimed a rock saved following to a doorway to the outside is only used to prop it open up when significant figures of learners are coming into less than adult supervision, CNN described.

The shooter utilized that door to enter the college and kill 21 people, including 19 college students.

It was not propped at the time but it was not locked, either.

Gutierrez denies protection protocols were routinely dismissed at her college.

“I believe that everybody’s at a various level in their grieving method. I consider they are entitled to their belief. I really feel that I adopted the teaching that I was presented with to the ideal of my capabilities and I will 2nd guess myself for the rest of my existence. But all over again, there is certainly items that could change that are not in my circle of control,” she claimed.

When requested if she feels she shares some obligation, Gutierrez said, “I imagine that there is constantly area for enhancement. I feel that I did my occupation to the best of my talents. I consider that as the campus principal, if I did the position to the best of my abilities, then I would hope that I, no person says that I am absolutely dependable for what transpired that working day.”

Investigators also uncovered some teachers did not acquire a warning a gunman was in the school.

Gutierrez used a cellular phone app called Raptor to warn them. She stated using the intercom could have instilled stress and alerted the gunman to the awareness of his presence.
