Mangaluru, Feb 8: Library and Info Science (LIS) is an interdisciplinary field that applies the tactics, views, and tools of management, data technology, education and learning, and other places to libraries. The importance of Library Science has increased and is constantly evolving by incorporating new topics like database administration, facts architecture and knowledge administration.

To deliver an exposure to the pupils in these areas, St Aloysius PU College or university organised a webinar on ‘Career Alternatives in Library Science and Details Technology’.

The useful resource particular person for the session was Dr Shivananda Bhat K, chief librarian of MAHE, Manipal. In his 30 years of Qualified Profession he has revealed many papers in journals and conference proceedings. His present locations of interest consist of facts literacy and exploration help series.

Dr Shivananda Bhat K gave insights into the structure and the working of a library. He presented an overview of the different courses that could be taken in library science and the aspects of how and exactly where pupils can go after them. Dr Bhat offered numerous vocation prospective clients available in Library Science and Information Technological know-how and the recent tendencies in the subject. Dr Shivananda also answered issues from the students at the end of the webinar. The session served the students to find and broaden their information on the wide selection of vocation solutions in library science.

Akshatha Hegde, joint secretary of the Library Affiliation accorded a warm welcome to all the members and introduced the source man or woman to the virtual accumulating. Delcita D’Souza, the pupil president sent the vote of thanks. The programme was coordinated by Shirley D’Souza, and Nisha Kamath, staff members in-charge of the Library Affiliation. E-certificates had been awarded to all the individuals. About 150 learners registered and benefited from this interactive webinar.
