April 20 (UPI) — A Mississippi jail violated the Constitution by subjecting its inmates to inhumane problems, the U.S. Justice of Office introduced on Wednesday.

Prisoners at the Mississippi Condition Penitentiary, also called Parchman, had insufficient entry to psychological wellbeing procedure for critical circumstances, the department stories. The jail also subjected the incarcerated to extended solitary confinement “in egregious disorders,” neglected to carry out effective anti-suicide protections and failed to avert inmate-on-inmate violence.

“The Constitution assures that all persons incarcerated in jails and prisons are addressed humanely, that sensible steps are taken to preserve them safe and sound, and that they get required psychological overall health care, procedure, and products and services to address their requirements,” Assistant Lawyer General Clarke claimed in a media launch.
