Minnesota Department of Education lacked system to prevent financial fraud, state senator says

A well known state senator says he does not believe the Minnesota Office of Instruction has plenty of checks and balances to avoid fraud in its administration of federal cash earmarked to feed minimal-money youngsters.

“I assume we’re obtaining closer to the truth that they truly never have limited inner controls,” Sen. Roger Chamberlain, R-Lino Lakes, explained in an job interview Wednesday after a 3rd Senate listening to on the matter. “And they did not seem at this extremely carefully, and that is why it wasn’t caught.”
